In honor of Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary as the maker of the world’s most outrageous automobiles, AUTOart has produced this exquisite, jewelry-like tribute to the house of the charging bull. Our 1/87th-scale Lamborghini keychain collection, which includes Aventador LP700-4, Reventon, Countach and Miura, is rendered in hand-polished die-cast aluminum, a unique and expensive material for this type of model but one that gives our small Lamborghini car a perfect mirror finish.
The fine detail of these aluminum models of Lamborghini cars is unprecedented in this scale. The size of the model itself excluding the chain measures around 54mm x 23mm (2.1” x 0.9”), it consists of more than twenty individual components, including the windscreen and side windows, which are individual chrome-plated injection-molded pieces attached to the main body in order to represent the flawless surface of real glass.
Each piece is painstakingly hand polished in a slow process that starts with a coarse buffing wheel and works down, step by careful step, to a soft buffer that lends the final perfection to the mirror surface.
AUTOart chose aluminum because of its unique glossy texture, which is far superior to the chrome-plated zinc keychains typically found in the market. The durable key ring and tethering chain are made of stainless steel for years of sturdy use, and the piece is packed at the factory into a plastic display box with a clear window.
